Hi everybody, in addition to SPEE, you may notice that there's a couple other games available on Dream Module. These are original IPs created by me :)

Well, i'd like to announce that Demo 1 (v0.6) is now available for Windows & Android.

[SPEE] 0.75 Released!

Super Pokemon Eevee Edition 0.75 is out now!

http://www.dreammodule.com/?spee=download

Launcher

This release is quite different than before. I have developed a new application I call the "Pokemon Eevee Launcher" which contains the base game files.

Its quite nifty as it can check for, and download new updates,
has stuff like automatic & manual save backups, and a feature called Mystery Gift that allows you to get free items.

All future patches will be done via the launcher’s update download system, way less complicated than before,
and it allows me to easily push out bugfixes and content updates.

Mystery Gift
I will be releasing new Mystery Gift items from time to time that you can redeem.
For this launch week; use the mystery gift to receive a piece of Shiny Data! A rare item which can be used to turn a pokemon into a shiny.

Font FixIf you have font problems, go into the Fonts folder, and install the 4 fonts.
(Right click > install)

Save File Transfer
You can use your old save files!
To do so, open up the old version’s folder, and look for files labelled like "Save01.lsd"
Those are your save files.
Copy and Paste them into the "Pokemon Eevee" folder of the new version!

[SPEE] 0.75 Announcement

I am happy to finally announce that Super Pokemon Eevee Edition 0.75 will be released NEXT WEEK!

Tuesday, 17 March 2015

[SPEE] Ignis Volcano

In 0.75, which will be out before the end of the month- you'll enter a dungeon called the "Ignis Volcano"

As it's name suggests, it's a very... firely place. Wild slugma, torkoak and magmars can be battled here.

In addition to that, you'll fight the first Corrupted Legendary Pokemon: Moltres. But unlike normal corrupted Pokemon, you will not be able to use legendaries on your team.

Instead you summon them into battle to deal massive damage (Final Fantasy style!)

[SPEE] Battle Speed Options

I quite like SPEE's battle system it's very final fantasy inspired and definitely gives the game a unique feeling compared to other Pokemon games.

BUT, one problem I always had with it is that it would sometimes feel slow if the enemy team were high leveled. A lot of the time you were just waiting for bars to fill up. It was an engine limitation i could not get around.

But i've recently had a breakthrough in the form of dynaRPG patcher by Cherry. Now because of this, in 0.75 you can change the battle speed!
You can change the speed from the computer in your house, there are 4 options.

SLOW- being the current battle speed of 0.74.
NORMAL- being 2x as fast, and the default battle speed for 0.75.
FAST- being 4x as fast as slow.
VERY FAST- being 6x as fast as slow.

The days of slow battles are over!

[SPEE] West Beach

Here is another new area you visit in 0.75; West Beach. (name pending)

This new map is a unique beach-like terrain, on the west side of Ignis Island, where pokemon like Krabby, and Tropius are found.

In addition to that, a special person named the "Surf Master" lives here.

After spending a lot of the last year doing mainly background systems work, it's nice to get back into mapping. Beach locales are a little hard to do, since you want it to appear natural, but you also want there to be tall grass for wild pokemon to be, so I had to look for a bit of balance. I quite like the end result, it feels and looks a lot different than other maps, the mixture of yellow, blue, brown and green is strangely pleasing.

Only downside; no footprints on the sand :O

[SPEE] Route 6 & Conn. Caves Redesign

In addition to designing new areas (more which i'll show soon), i've been working on redesigning some of the old maps.

Route 6/Connecting Caves I've always felt unsatisfied about. It's a route that requires an axe, and has a cave which you need to traverse to pass it.

This started causing backtracking problems because there's a hypervisor battle right after it. If someone didn't want to face the hypervisor yet, they would have to backtrack through the caves to go back to Arbor City.
In addition to that after you beat the first hypervisor, you get warped back to Arbor City, meaning you're gonna be going through Route 6 again.

Now, the caves are a bunch of interconnected tunnels rather than the isolated tunnels they were before. The cracked rocks will break after you defeat the Corrupted Diglett that is at the end of the tunnel; that allows you take a direct route to the start/end of Route 6, cutting down on a bit of backtracking.

Route 6 has had minor modifications, including removal of ledges which I noticed were confusing players who didn't realise they were going backwards by jumping over them.

[SPEE] Ember Forest

Just a little progress update. Eventing to the end of chapter 5 has been completed, so that's now 5 whole chapters of gameplay.  I've now been fixing a bunch of bugs the last release brought out. I have done much of the mapping for chapter 6 and am planning to include it in the 0.75 release.
It's gonna be a pretty meaty release, over 1 chapter of content, atleast 1 hypervisor battle, and a few new mechanics coming into play! Mid-March is likely when it's coming out.

One of the new areas you'll get to explore soon is the Ember Forest. It is filled with fire and bug typed Pokemon.

[SPEE] Happy New Year!

Well, that was a nice christmas break, happy new year to you all!
Work on 0.75 is going steadily, and will be out in a month or so :D

[SPEE] v0.74 avaliable now!

Kept ya waiting, huh?

Super Pokemon Eevee Edition v0.74
http://dreammodule.com/?spee=download

Well, it's finally here. This updates the game with half a chapter of additional content, including the 5th gym and a new Team Rocket encounter.
In addition to that, minor revisions to the dialogue, mythology and flashbacks.

The Pokedex 2.0 means you won't have to tediously scan Pokemon, it will do it automatically- while using the Pokedex in battle means you can view the enemy stats, replacing the 'StatSensor' item, Pokedex also has unlimited uses too.

While the new Shiny Data system allows you to use the Pokedex on shiny pokemon to "extract" their shiny data. You can then bond this shiny data to one of your pokemon, making them into a shiny!

Have fun :)

[Nax] Android playable alpha now avalaible!

So in additon to working on the next update to Super Pokemon Eevee Edition, i've been working on an android build of Nax, it's working far better than I was expecting.

You can download it here, and side-load it to your android smartphone. I've tried it on my android 4.2.2 Xperia Z1 and it works very smoothly, full 60fps. but I'd love some feedback on how it performs on other devices.

DOWNLOAD: Nax of the Universe - Android 0.12

This is an early version, and some features, such as the Tesla weapon, flux mode, and the tutorial have not been converted to mobile format.

CONTROLS (they're quite intuitive when you get used to it)
  • On the left side of the screen there's a virtual joystick, that is used for moving.
in addition to that, there's 3 circle buttons.
  • Block (top button) Hold to block. blocking increases defence/reduces damage, and protects against knockback effects. If you time it right, you can parry enemey attacks.
  • Switch Weapons (middle button). tap to switch between the Redband and xatana weapons.
  • Snatch(bottom button). The snatcher is a special timespace device which. If you tap it, it'll warp nearby enemies straight to you. The range is screen-wide, so if you can see an enemy, and it isn't "heavy", you can teleport it to you.
If you hold the snatcher button, you can teleport TO enemies instead.
the snatcher can be used in mid-air for some cool combination attacks.

  • The right side of the screen is where all the action happens. But there's no virtual buttons and such. Instead it uses a action swipe system.
  • If you tap the right side of the screen you will perform a basic attack.
If you tap it multiple times, you can perform a combo.
For the "Redband" weapon, there are 3 combos.
    Tap-Tap-Tap = normal combo
    Tap-Wait-Tap-Tap = spin combo
    Tap-Tap-Wait-Tap Repeatedly = stab combo
The "Xatana" weapon has 1 combo. Tap-Tap-Tap-Tap
  • If you swipe forward (ie; the direction nax is facing) Nax will perform a forward thrusting attack.
  • If you swipe backwards, Nax will perform a launcher attack that will launch enemies into the air.
(with redband, you will launch into the air too, while with Xatana, you can combo the launcher by pressing tapping straight after into a downcut)
  • If you swipe up, nax will jump. You can attack in midair too. Redband has a downslash, while Xatana has a double cut.
  • If you swipe down, nax will do a back-dodge. If you swipe down, while walking, nax will dodge in the walking direction.

There's 2 levels. The forest level is the better one.

Monday, 16 December 2013

[Nax] Demo 0.12 avaliable now!

So, after long last, the second playable demo of Nax of the Universe is available.

There are two levels in the game, the Moon Facility, which is a new environment, filled with slime enemies. And it also serves as a tutorial, teaching you the basics of the game.

The second level is the Ember Forest, which was in the first alpha. Except now it's been massively expanded. Featuring 5 enemy types. It's a somewhat challenging level to the novice so buying health upgrades is recommended.

In addition to that, the store system is implemented, it allows you to upgrade Nax's abilities, which include upgrading health, weapons, snatcher, item slots and coin pulling ability.

There is a new Hub menu from which you can select a level to play, view Nax's stats, customize via shop, change options and more.

The Save/Load system has been revamped, so saving will save all your stats, but not your position in the level. you'll be kicked back to the Hub menu when you load game. This was done for balance reasons, to stop people from abusing the chests which gives random items.

Another new addition is the Options menu. Which includes a variety of options, from zoom settings, to the often requested, button remapping. The sound options in the menu don't work yet, because I've yet to actively work on the sound.

I've also added an option called "Unlock Movelist" which will instantly unlock Nax's entire moveset without having to upgrade, so people can get a feel of what a full powered Nax is like. You can reset it to normal by turning the option off, saving and quitting the game.

Anyway, the new demo is a lot longer than the first, and hopefully less buggy. It's still an alpha, as such a lot of the effects are placeholder until I have time to improve them (namely stuff like barriers)
